DEVICE FOR PROSTATE REMODELING (BPH) AND ONCOLOGICAL TREATMENT 

New treatment in urological surgery

Cryoremodeling - new, transperineal treatment for prostate (BPH) which is minimally invasive, guaranties less complications and decreases risk of in amation after. Cryosurgery as a prostate treatment is gaining favor among patients and doctors. EBM and doctors experiences show, that cryosurgery can be more effective and less expensive alternative to TURP or laser surgery. 

 

 

 

 

How prostate cryoremodeling is performed

Surgeon inserts several thin cryoprobes (3, 6 or 8) through the perineum into the prostate. An ultrasound probe placed in rectum allows the surgeon to see the prostate and surrounding tissue, what helps properly place cryoprobes. N20 or CO2 gas used as cooling medium rapidly lowers temperature of the cryoprobes in tissue to about -40°C. Extremely low temperature creates ice balls, that freeze the entire prostate. When the prostate is frozen, next it is thawed. Freeze-thaw cycle is repeated to reduce possibility, that any undesirable prostate tissue remains. Freezing procedure takes 3 - 6 min. Often patient may return home the same day.
