CRYO-S ElectricTM apparatus is intended for rapid, local efficient freezing of tissues with a wide range of contact cryoapplicators and unique spraying cryoapplicator, which permits freezing of very small lesions (several cubic millimetres) with continuous cooling adjustment as well as very large ones (several dozens cubic centimetres) by spraying liquid nitrous oxide directly on treated lesion.

CRYO-S ElectricTM. State of the art cryosurgical device manufactured by Metrum CryoFlex is the new generation of apparatus generally approved by many experts in the field from 1992. Cryo-S Electric is controlled by microprocessor, and all the parameters can be monitored on a special LCD screen:

Mode selection, probe cleansing and freezing can all be performed using doble foot switch, so the site of a lesion remains sterile.
Reverse automatic probe cleaning system and two freezing modes (continuous and discontinuous)
Temperature of the probe, pressure, gass flow, time of the procedure are screened during freezing.

cooling medium

Cryo-S Electric is a cryosurgical apparatus utilising nitrous oxide (NO2) or carbon dioxide (CO2) as the cooling agent. N2O is an anaesthetic gas widely used in hospitals and clinics. Expanding in the cryoapplicator end-piece N2O produces low temperatures down to - 89 C.

Gas flow in cryoapplicator is a key parameter defining cryoapplicator as efficiency. The volume of gas flowing through the cryoapplicator is measured by the flowmeter. Flow is the most important parameter which indicates if the cryoprobe is in good condition. If the flow has optimal value, freezing procedure will be performed well. Because of that it is very important to control flow value on the indicator and flow of gas from device’s outlet. If the flow value is small, it means that cryoprobe is partly plugged (i.e. with dirt or moisture) or pressure in the cylinder is too low.

pressure gauge and pressure adjustments

After the cylinder valve is opened, internal circuit of the apparatus is filled with gas under pressure: yellow 0 – 20 bar end-piece cleaning  pressure / blue 25 – 50 bar standard operating pressure / red 60 – 80 bar overpressure.
